Hiring IT Project Manager – Justice & Court Services, Stafingo | Public Sector Client | Remote Across Canada Stafingo is hiring an experienced IT Project Manager for our public-sector client in the GTA to lead a major technology modernization initiative focused on replacing a legacy case management platform with a modern, digital solution. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Project Manager with experience leading complex IT implementations, large-scale data migrations, enterprise case management systems, online applications, stakeholder engagement, governance, and public-sector projects. The successful candidate will lead the project from development and implementation through operational start-up and closeout, ensuring delivery within approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, and performance expectations. Contract Details : Position details: IT Project Manager- Justice & Court Services Employment Type: Contract Client: Public-Sector Client Location: 100% Remote within Canada Start Date: October 1st, 2026 End Date: March 31st, 2027 Extension : Additional 12 months possible Compensation : $80/hr T4 – $100/hr INC Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM MT Background Check: Basic Background Check Position Overview : The project will modernize justice and court service processes through the implementation of a new case management platform designed to: Streamline and automate business processes Improve access to court-related services Enable online submission and processing of documents Support digital filing and approval workflows Modernize case management capabilities Improve online access to court information Enhance document management and operational efficiency Support transition from a legacy platform to a modern enterprise solution The Project Manager will work with a broad range of business, technical, operational, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities : Project Leadership Lead the project through development, implementation, operational start-up, transition, and closeout. Define project objectives, scope, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria. Establish project governance, roles, responsibilities, and terms of reference. Coordinate project resources and ensure appropriate expertise is available. Ensure project deliverables are completed within approved time, cost, and performance parameters. Coordinate project sign-off and transition to operations. Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules. Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). Define milestones, dependencies, activities, and critical path. Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks. Conduct critical path analysis and develop recovery strategies. Coordinate schedules across internal teams, vendors, technical resources, and stakeholders. Ensure project milestones and deliverables remain on track. Governance & Reporting Establish and maintain project governance and reporting processes. Prepare regular project status reports for project leadership and stakeholders. Track scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions. Identify and escalate issues requiring management attention. Maintain project documentation, action items, decision logs, and governance artifacts. Manage project change requests and assess impacts on scope, schedule, cost, and resources. Risk & Issue Management Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate project risks. Maintain comprehensive risk and issue registers. Develop contingency and mitigation strategies. Proactively identify risks associated with data migration, implementation, integration, vendors, resources, and operational readiness. Escalate significant risks and issues through established governance channels. Stakeholder & Vendor Management Engage with large and diverse stakeholder groups. Facilitate discussions involving different perspectives, priorities, and requirements. Translate complex technical and business issues into actionable decisions. Coordinate internal and external project stakeholders. Manage vendor relationships and monitor deliverables. Build consensus and maintain strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project. Implementation & Transition Support implementation of a modern enterprise case management solution. Coordinate data migration and integration activities. Support testing, deployment, training, and operational readiness. Coordinate transition from the existing system to the new platform. Ensure appropriate documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational procedures are completed. Support go-live planning and post-implementation transition. Mandatory Qualifications : Candidates must meet all of the following requirements: Valid PMP certification in good standing. Minimum 5 years of experience coordinating complex projects involving large-scale data migrations as a Project Manager. Minimum 2 years of experience working with Canadian government/public-sector organizations. Minimum 3 years of experience working with large stakeholder groups representing diverse backgrounds, functions, and perspectives. Desirable Qualifications : The following experience will be considered an asset: 2+ years of court system, justice-sector, or legal experience. Experience with court registry processes. Experience implementing or managing client-facing online applications. Strong experience with online document management systems. Experience implementing or managing large-scale case management systems. Experience with enterprise application modernization. Experience with digital transformation initiatives. Experience replacing legacy systems with modern platforms. Experience with large-scale data migration and system integration. Experience working with government or regulated environments. Ideal Candidate Profile : The ideal candidate will be a senior IT Project Manager who has successfully delivered complex technology initiatives involving: Large-scale data migrations Enterprise case management platforms Client-facing digital applications Online document management Legacy system replacement Government/public-sector environments Complex stakeholder groups Vendor and implementation partners Formal project governance Risk, issue, and change management Detailed project scheduling and critical path analysis Implementation, deployment, and operational transition Strong communication, leadership, organization, problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential. The successful resource must provide their own computer and related equipment and ensure they have the necessary access and credentials required to perform the assignment. The computer operating system must be a modern version of Windows or macOS. Windows is preferred for better compatibility. The fixed-rate compensation must be inclusive of applicable overhead, equipment, and related expenses. Training The selected resource will be required to complete all mandatory training upon hire. What did you change and what was the outcome? Recent Project Management Experience: How much project management responsibility have you had in your recent roles? Describe a recent project and explain how your contribution supported its successful delivery. Court Registry Experience: What experience do you have with court registry processes?
