Main functions: Secondary operations in an aluminum foundry: Ensure all duties are being performed following safe work practices at all times and do not present a safety hazard to employees. Follow scheduling documentation to ensure designated parts are shipped to the next department. Remove excess flashing from castings. Follow operator's instructions in work packages. Move, place and adjust heating torches on molds. Ensure that equipment, materials, and production processes do not present a safety or health hazard to employees or to the general public. Finishing of casting through saw cutting and sanding procedures for gate removal. Prep and shake sand cores. Relieve Caster. Completes work package documentation. Clean work areas and equipment. Working Conditions Works 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday. Foundry Finisher frequently changing priorities Employment Requirements WHMIS Certification. Mechanically inclined. Reliable. Ability to work under minimum supervision. Multi-task.
What you’ll do
The Foundry Finisher is responsible for secondary operations in an aluminum foundry, ensuring safety and quality in the finishing of castings. Key tasks include removing excess flashing, following operator instructions, and maintaining clean work areas.
Requirements
Candidates must have WHMIS Certification and be mechanically inclined. The role requires reliability and the ability to work with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.
