Join our team and help us keep communities connected. Stantec’s Transportation team has an immediate opportunity for a Junior Environmental Planner to join our Hamilton or Toronto office. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate with knowledge and experience working on environmental assessments. Similar summer work-term or co-op experience would be considered as a definite asset for this position. Your Key Responsibilities * Supporting the environmental component of multi-disciplinary projects * Supporting the preparation of environmental documents for all phases of transportation projects from planning through to construction * Maintaining effective communication and liaison with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to collect information in order to identify and address issues * Coordinating public consultation programs, including open houses * Analyzing input from multi-disciplinary teams and consultants * Interacting with clients, regulators and stakeholders * Writing reports, proposals and presentations * Following quality assurance/quality control, and health and safety requirements. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week. What you’ll do

The role involves supporting the environmental components of multi-disciplinary transportation projects and preparing necessary environmental documentation. Responsibilities also include coordinating public consultation programs and maintaining effective communication with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Geography, Biology, Ecology, or a related field. A working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation and the ability to synthesize complex data are required.
