Your Opportunity Stantec is seeking a motivated Transportation / Civil Engineering Technologist in Winnipeg, Manitoba to support the delivery of rural and municipal infrastructure projects through detailed design, tendering, and construction. In this role you will provide field and office support on active municipal and provincial projects, including a culvert-replacement crossing project currently advancing to construction in southern Manitoba. This is an excellent entry level opportunity to gain industry experience across the full project lifecycle while working alongside experienced engineers, technologists, and surveyors. Please note that this is a defined term role expected to run through the end of 2026, aligned with the current construction season. Your Key Responsibilities * Support field surveys and site data collection, including topographic and construction survey layout, using total station and/or GPS equipment. * Conduct field reviews and construction inspection, documenting progress, quantities, and site conditions, and preparing daily field reports and photo records. * Assist with contract administration tasks such as reviewing contractor submissions, tracking progress estimates and quantities, and maintaining correspondence and deficiency logs. * Review drawings, specifications, and quantity take-offs for completeness and consistency with the design intent. * Provide general design and drafting support to the project team, coordinating with engineers, CAD technicians, and subconsultants. * Coordinate with utilities, landowners, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders under the direction of the Project Manager. * Support the preparation of tender packages, progress reports, and project documentation. * Comply with and champion Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) program, with a focus on safety in the field. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week. Requirements
Candidates must hold a diploma in Civil or Municipal Engineering Technology and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and experience with survey equipment or construction projects are highly preferred.
