POSITION OVERVIEW: Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting a Pipefitter to work at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). Pipefitter plays a vital role in mounting majors and assembling small-bore and large-bore piping systems according to drawings on various skidded packages. Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, work is completed by reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA’s and Piping Specifications. Additionally, they may mentor apprentices for skill development. QUALIFICATIONS: Registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice or Journeyperson Pipefitter 1-2 years of previous experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment A team player with good organizational skills and excellent communication skills KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI): ASSEMBLY Installation and placement of major equipment Installation and support of spooling Skid layout for small bore piping Fitting of the socket and screwed small bore pipe Read, interpret and red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID's, G.A.’s) Tack welding experience is an asset SAFETY Maintain a safe work environment Participate in safety and company programs Team player with positive engagement Participate in project reviews with engineering & drafting We offer competitive wages, training, flexible, dynamic, and exciting work environment.
