Experienced Body Shop Leaders: This One Is for You Steele Collision Dartmouth is looking for an experienced Body Shop Manager to lead our large, high-volume collision operation on an 18-month contract. This is not a role for someone looking to learn the business. We are looking for an experienced collision leader who knows how to run a busy shop, motivate a production team, manage workflow, and deliver results. This is a hands-on leadership position. You’ll be visible on the floor, working alongside your team, removing obstacles, keeping production moving, and making sure the shop continues to operate at the high standard our customers and partners expect. Wage commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience. What You'll Lead * Drive Daily Production: Keep vehicles moving through the shop efficiently while ensuring production goals, timelines, and quality standards are achieved. * Lead from the Floor: Be present and engaged with the production team, identifying challenges, removing roadblocks, and keeping everyone focused on priorities. * Motivate & Develop the Team: Build accountability, recognize strong performance, and create an environment where employees know what is expected and have the support to succeed. * Support Estimating: Provide guidance and support with estimates, supplements, repair planning, and other estimating-related needs. * Own Performance: Monitor production, productivity, workflow, and departmental targets, taking action when results are off track. * Maintain a Strong Operation: Help ensure the shop remains organized, efficient, safe, and operating at the standard expected of a major collision facility. * Support Quality: Ensure completed repairs meet quality expectations and that customers receive their vehicles properly repaired and ready for the road. * Work Across the Business: Maintain strong communication with insurance partners, dealerships, customers, Parts, Service, and other internal teams. * Lead with Accountability: Set clear expectations, follow up on performance, and address issues quickly and professionally. * Keep the Team Moving Forward: Anticipate problems before they become production delays and make practical decisions to keep the operation on track. What We're Looking For This opportunity requires proven collision repair leadership experience. We're looking for someone who brings: * Previous Body Shop Management, Production Management, or significant collision repair leadership experience. * Strong knowledge of collision repair operations and production workflow. * Experience working with estimates, supplements, repair planning, and insurance processes. * A proven ability to lead and motivate a production team in a high-volume environment. * Strong understanding of productivity, targets, KPIs, and shop performance. * The confidence to make decisions, solve problems, and keep a large operation moving. * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. * A hands-on, visible leadership style. * Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
