Audit and Assurance Manager Permanent Full-time | One Day in Office/week Salary range: $120-140K, plus comprehensive benefits, generous paid time off and flexible hours. The Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced Audit and Assurance Manager who enjoys both the technical and people sides of public accounting. In this role, you’ll manage audit and review engagements, develop strong relationships with privately held clients, and play an important leadership role within our Assurance team. You’ll coach and mentor experienced staff, contribute to practice management and work closely with our Partners and management team. Responsibilities Reviewing engagement files and tax returns for audit and review clients Building strong relationships with clients Acting as the “go to” person for experienced accounting staff Coaching and performance management of the Assurance team, and ad hoc training for others in the Firm Coordinating engagement staffing, scheduling and workflow with the Assurance team Contributing to practice management and firm-wide initiatives Identifying opportunities to provide additional value to clients and contributing to the firm’s business development goals. Your Skills and Experience Qualified CPA designation Two to three years’ managerial experience in a public accounting environment and oversight of audit and review engagements, including file and tax return reviews Experience as the “doer” performing similar work Personal and corporate tax experience of some complexity Experience working with privately held corporations Work experience with Caseware/CaseView, Taxprep, and Excel Client service and relationship building excellence (for external and internal clients) Detail-oriented and analytical/inquiry skills that enable a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation) Benefits of a Career at Stern Cohen We believe a successful career in public accounting shouldn’t require giving up your life outside of work.
