Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Permanent Educational Assistant 2 for a work assignment with PreK students at Camilla. Every student learns differently and deserves the support they need to thrive. As an Educational Assistant, you play an important role in helping students access learning, build confidence, and experience success in the classroom. Through collaboration, encouragement, and individualised support, you help create inclusive learning environments where students feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their potential. Located just 15 minutes northwest of St. Albert, Camilla School moved into its new building in 2022. With 500 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 9, the school is recognized for its strong academic culture and dedication to supporting students with diverse learning needs. What You'll Be Doing Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will: Support students across a range of grades and learning needs Assist with academic, social, and behavioural development Provide individualised and small-group support as needed Contribute to a caring, inclusive, and culturally respectful learning environment Collaborate with school staff to promote student success and well-being What Success Looks Like Builds positive, respectful relationships with students that foster trust, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Supports student learning, independence, and well-being through patience, encouragement, and a student-centred approach. Creates and contributes to inclusive, welcoming, and culturally responsive learning environments. Collaborates effectively with teachers, support staff, and families to help students achieve their goals. Responds to student needs with flexibility, empathy, and professionalism while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Applies behaviour support and regulation strategies consistently and effectively to promote student success. Demonstrates strong communication skills and contributes positively to a collaborative team environment. Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment when supporting students with diverse learning and behavioural needs. Embraces continuous learning and adapts to the evolving needs of students and the school community. What You Bring Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate Experience supporting students with Autism or behavioural needs CPR and First Aid Training or experience in behaviour support, TCIS, developmental and emotional regulation strategies Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills Flexibility, patience, and a student-centred approach Equivalencies combining education, knowledge, and experience may be considered Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector check Why Join Sturgeon Public Schools?
