Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Library Technician for Landing Trail. The Library Technician plays an important role in supporting both literacy and digital learning across the school. By ensuring that library resources are organized, accessible, and engaging, this position helps foster a love of reading and inquiry among students. In addition, by supporting educational technology and providing day-to-day troubleshooting assistance, the Library Technician helps ensure that students and staff can confidently access the tools they need for learning. This role also supports clear communication and organization within the school through website and calendar management, contributing to a well-connected and efficiently run learning environment where students and staff can thrive. Landing Trail School serves approximately 400 students from Preschool to Grade 4, including LOGOS programming, which integrates faith-based learning into the Alberta curriculum. This role provides essential support to students and staff in an inclusive and caring school environment. What You'll Be Doing Organize and display library materials to ensure resources are easily accessible Provide excellent customer service to students and staff Manage the school website and online calendars Support technology use, including iPads, laptops, Chromebooks, interactive whiteboards, and other devices Assist with computer troubleshooting and basic technical support What success looks like Library materials are well-organized, accessible, and thoughtfully displayed to promote student engagement and literacy Students and staff receive friendly, responsive, and effective customer service in the library and across technology support needs Library systems, including cataloguing and circulation, are maintained accurately and efficiently School website content and online calendars are current, clear, and easy to navigate Classroom and school technology (Chromebooks, laptops, interactive whiteboards, etc.) is supported effectively with minimal disruption to learning Basic technical issues are resolved promptly or escalated appropriately when needed A welcoming, inclusive, and student-centred library environment is consistently maintained Staff and students are supported in developing confidence and independence with technology and digital tools Library and digital resources are used effectively to enhance teaching and learning You are recognized as a reliable, approachable, and resourceful member of the school community What You Bring Library and Information Technology Diploma (or equivalent education and related experience) Cataloguing training Training with Insignia, Office Suite, GAFE, and Hapara First Aid certification Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving abilities Ability to support and troubleshoot educational technology Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check Why Join Sturgeon Public Schools?
