SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. is seeking a Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) with IRATA for Lifting Equipment Inspection and Maintenance who is self-motivated and safety-oriented to join our team. SUMMIT Inspection Services Ltd. has provided in-service pressure vessel inspections predominately to the Oil and Gas industry across western Canada since 2004, and is seeking a skilled, experienced, and team-oriented candidate who values quality and integrity. SHIFT AND LOCATION This is a call‑out position with no guaranteed set number of hours. Fly‑in/fly‑out -if required The position may or may not be camp‑based, depending on the assignment. Start date : October 2026 Open to subcontractor or T4 Employee Tasks And Responsibilities Mechanical integrity and operation of all lifting and travel components on Cranes/Hoists and mobile lifting equipment. Electrical integrity of Motors, Controls, Safeties and Cabling on Cranes/Hoists and mobile lifting equipment. Maintenance and servicing of Cranes/Hoists and mobile lifting equipment. The work is often completed with Rope Access, an IRATA certification is required. Experience With Experience with Hoisting and Rigging Safety Operation and general maintenance of industrial and mechanical equipment, specifically with lifting equipment. Installation and replacement of wire ropes Qualifications/Requirements Journey person electrician qualified to service industrial equipment; Journey person industrial mechanic qualified to work on industrial equipment or; Journey Person in equivalent trade: Welder, Ironworker, etc. qualified to work on industrial equipment 4000+ hours of direct experience working on the maintenance, repair or manufacture of cranes or hoists Rigging & Overhead Crane Operator Telehandler Operator JLG/AWP Operator Rope Access, an IRATA certification (required) Must have the following valid safety certifications prior to employment: H2S Alive, Emergency First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and OSSA Fall Protection Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Ability to work at high elevations Ability to lift up to 50lbs. unassisted and to operate hand tools Strong verbal and written communication skills Read and write in English Ability to collaborate on assignments Experience working in confined spaces and working from heights Strong attention to detail required to provide thorough inspection observations Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access Valid driver’s license required Candidates will be required to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test prior to site deployment SUMMIT provides competitive compensation.
