Job summary

Key ResponsibilitiesNew Dealer Development Identify and prospect potential new window covering dealers, retailers, interior designers, decorators, contractors, builders, and other trade partners. Conduct outbound sales activities including phone calls, emails, in-person visits, networking, referrals, and industry events. Present the company's window covering products, programs, pricing structure, lead times, service capabilities, and dealer benefits. Qualify prospective dealers to ensure they are a suitable fit for the company's product offering and service model. Manage the dealer onboarding process from initial contact through account setup, product training, sample distribution, and first orders. Develop new business within underrepresented geographic markets and customer segments. Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently work toward new dealer acquisition and revenue targets. Dealer Account Management Manage an assigned portfolio of dealer accounts and serve as their primary sales contact. Build strong, long-term relationships with dealer owners, salespeople, designers, estimators, installers, and purchasing teams. Conduct regular account reviews to identify sales opportunities, service concerns, product needs, and areas for growth. Encourage dealers to expand their product offering and increase their share of business with the company. Follow up on dealer inquiries, quotations, samples, pricing requests, product questions, and outstanding opportunities. Re-engage inactive or declining accounts and develop plans to increase their purchasing activity. Coordinate internally with customer service, order entry, production, estimating, marketing, and technical teams to support dealer requirements. Window Covering Product Sales Develop a strong working knowledge of the company's window covering product range, including: Roller shades Solar and sunscreen shades Blackout shades Zebra/Vision shades Cellular shades Dual shades Specialty shading systems Manual and motorized window coverings Fabrics, cassettes, fascia, bottom bars, side channels, and related components Understand common window covering applications and recommend appropriate products based on window size, light control, privacy, aesthetics, installation conditions, and budget. Assist dealers with selecting appropriate fabrics, operating systems, controls, and motorization solutions. Promote new products, fabrics, components, promotions, and sales programs to the dealer network. Maintain awareness of competitive products, pricing, trends, and developments within the window covering industry. Dealer Training & Support Provide product and sales training to new and existing dealers. Conduct dealer showroom visits and ensure dealers have appropriate samples, displays, literature, and marketing materials. Educate dealers on measuring, ordering requirements, product limitations, available options, and common installation considerations. Support dealers in understanding motorization options, controls, power requirements, and smart-home integration where applicable. Assist dealers with using online ordering systems, price guides, dealer portals, quoting tools, and other company resources. Coordinate additional technical or product training where required. Territory & Sales Management Develop and execute a territory sales plan focused on dealer acquisition, dealer retention, and revenue growth. Establish priorities for dealer visits and prospecting activities based on market potential. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, follow-ups, and sales activity in the company's CRM. Monitor dealer sales performance and identify accounts with significant growth opportunities. Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, territory updates, and account development plans. Achieve established targets for new dealer acquisition, sales growth, account retention, and territory revenue. Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to visit dealers and prospective customers. Industry & Market Development Attend window covering, interior design, construction, home improvement, and related industry events when required. Build relationships with industry professionals who can generate dealer or project opportunities. Monitor trends in residential and commercial window coverings, including automation, motorization, smart-home integration, energy efficiency, child safety, and contemporary design. Provide feedback to management regarding customer needs, competitive activity, product gaps, market opportunities, and dealer feedback. Qualifications Previous experience in window coverings, blinds, shades, interior products, building products, architectural products, or a closely related industry is strongly preferred. Previous experience in business development, territory sales, dealer sales, account management, or B2B sales. Strong understanding of relationship-based and consultative selling. Ability to prospect for new customers while simultaneously managing and growing existing accounts. Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Comfortable conducting product demonstrations and training sessions. Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple dealers and sales opportunities simultaneously. Ability to understand technical product information, measurements, specifications, and configuration options. Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office or similar business software. Valid driver's licence and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned sales territory.
