Job Description: The Manager, Investment Tax Reporting will be responsible for management of high volume investment data for Sun Life’s Canadian entities to support various tax processes. What will you do? Investment Data Management: Manage the analysis of large-scale tax and accounting transaction information across investment portfolios and platforms for tax provision and tax return processes, including complex calculations for CIF process, forecasting, and strategic planning Tax Financial Reporting: Responsible for tax financial reporting and tax attribute tracking for Canadian companies, ensuring the accurate and timely determination of quarterly income tax provisions under IFRS Tax Audit Support: Assist with both government income tax audits and financial statement audits, preparing formal responses to queries and participating in walkthroughs Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as a key collaborator with the Investment Team and Tax Advisory Team to understand asset movements and ensure data integrity for tax purposes Process Transformation: Develop and implement processes to improve the efficiency and timeliness of various tax deliverables What do you need to succeed? Strong understanding of investment accounting, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting controls Knowledge of Canadian tax and financial reporting for corporate and non-corporate entities (such as partnerships and trusts), and investment tax reporting Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Process improvement mindset with a focus on automation and controls Understanding of insurance and investment management business (asset) Experience in financial applications (e.g. SAP, Tableau, etc) and fund accounting platforms (PAM/E!) is an asset Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications is essential 5 years of experience CPA designation preferred.
