Laboratory experience in a Refinery or Oil Sand Laboratory is desirable Experience operating and maintaining critical lab equipment such as GC, IC, ICP, etc Proven expertise in process and analytical chemistry Knowledge of Statistical Process Control Excellent knowledge of relevant ASTM, UOP, CGSB, the LIMS system as well as the ThermoFisher system Don’t have all the qualifications listed? Responsibilities: Maintain equipment, procedures and document related to the equipment to ensure timely and high-quality data Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and fill out the FLHAs Provide technical training, including but not limited to operation of equipment, software, preventive and corrective maintenance on the equipment Ensure QA & QC protocols are met and update if necessary Prepare and participate in audits Act as a contact and technical support person for Operations and Engineers Commission new equipment and maintain related reports and documentation Research new technologies that meet reference methods and regulatory requirements Actively participate in Safety, Quality and Team meeting Offer guidance and support laboratory technicians whenever necessary Maintain the MLP limits, MOC, NCR, SOP, SLIM and Worksheets Location and other Key details: This is a base position at Syncrude Main Laboratory at Mildred Lake Site based in Fort McMurray Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory.
