About The Role The Business Analyst, IT Operations Liaison, based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is a full-time, permanent position that plays a vital role at the intersection of operations and technology within the lumber industry. Reporting to senior management, this role is responsible for aligning manufacturing, administrative, and IT functions to ensure seamless communication and process integration. The Business Analyst acts as a bridge between business needs and technological solutions, translating requirements into scalable systems and driving process optimization. This position involves supporting full project lifecycles, enhancing data integrity, and promoting operational excellence across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing environments, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting Strong understanding of ERP and Business Intelligence (BI) systems Experience with manufacturing processes and workflows, preferably in the lumber industry Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications Experience supporting full project lifecycle including analysis, development, testing, deployment, and adoption Knowledge of data analytics and performance monitoring tools Understanding of EDI processes and system integrations Fluent in English; bilingualism in French and English is preferred Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels Results-oriented, structured, and adaptable in a dynamic environment Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison between operations, administrative functions, and IT to ensure alignment of priorities and initiatives Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and support the full project lifecycle from analysis to deployment and adoption Develop a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, standardization, and continuous improvement Provide functional leadership on core systems such as ERP and BI, ensuring system reliability, usability, and data consistency across operational and financial flows Support finance and administrative teams in resolving discrepancies, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance Ensure accuracy and compliance in AD/CVD processes related to U.S. exports in collaboration with compliance teams Leverage data analytics to monitor performance, support decision-making, and generate actionable business insights Contribute to strategic IT initiatives, including system enhancements, integrations, and digital transformation projects Oversee Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes, ensuring stability, accuracy, and effective onboarding of trading partners Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and implement technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency Benefits Competitive salary and annual bonus At least three weeks of vacation and three floating holidays from day one Comprehensive group insurance coverage starting immediately Telemedicine services for health support Defined-contribution pension plan with generous employer contributions from the first day Employee and family assistance program to support well-being Educational assistance program to foster continuous learning Hybrid work environment combining in-office and remote work options Inclusive workplace culture emphasizing respect, diversity, and inclusion Office location accessible by public transit Equal Opportunity Domtar is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Requirements
