Job summary

Equipment/Utility Operator Chester, Nova Scotia Sustane Technologies Inc. is a clean technology company focused on waste transformation. Sustane has developed and is commercializing a set of processes to transform municipal solid waste (MSW) and landfill destined plastic streams into high value fuels, chemical feedstocks and recyclable materials. Sustane's core concept is the diversion of waste materials from landfills, and their technology breakthrough delivers pure products that were not previously possible. The result is unprecedented value recovery and waste diversion levels with the potential to drastically reduce reliance on landfills in the future. Sustane believes that current consumption and waste patterns are simply not sustainable and that we must fundamentally challenge how we sustain ourselves on this planet. Sustane’s first North American facility began construction in the Spring of 2018. We are located in Chester, Nova Scotia. We are expanding our workforce to allow us to move to a full 24/7 operation. We are seeking Equipment/Utility Operators to join our growing team. Responsibilities of the Equipment/Utility Operator include but are not limited to: Operate heavy equipment. Primarily a front-end loader and periodically forklift, skid-steer, telehandler, scissor-lift and genie boom. Using equipment to move materials as needed to support the daily plant operations. Perform pre and post trip inspections of operating and process equipment. Prepare and maintain work records on the operation of assigned equipment. · Perform preventative maintenance functions and non-complex servicing on mobile equipment. Offer input on operation improvements where applicable. Housekeeping and cleaning of operating areas. Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances. Other duties may be assigned by Chief Power Engineer. As the ideal candidate, you will have knowledge of maintenance and safety regulations utilized in the operation of heavy equipment, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment. You will have excellent communication skills, coupled with strong attention to detail and the ability to make sound decisions. A rotating shift schedule is required. Sustane will offer a starting wage of $22.72 per hour with the opportunity for progression. Sustane also offers a benefits package as well as participation in a GRSP program.
