Position: Senior Project Manager Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Job ID#: RQ11437 Duration: 5 Months Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager / Project Leader to lead the planning, governance, reporting, and delivery support activities for a large-scale public sector technology program. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, executive-level reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-project coordination to support successful program outcomes. Key Responsibilities Manage, oversee, track, and update large, complex projects, including schedules, risks, dependencies, and deliverables. Lead executive governance, reporting, and decision-support activities. Develop executive project status briefings and present updates to senior leadership. Coordinate integrated project reporting across multiple project teams and stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans identifying resource, timeline, and budget requirements. Manage the monthly governance cycle, including information collection, analysis, review, and presentation materials. Synthesize project status, progress updates, and strategic recommendations for executive stakeholders. Manage deliverables and dependencies across multiple active projects. Identify, communicate, and manage project risks and issues while recommending mitigation strategies. Build strong working relationships with project teams, leadership, and stakeholders. Develop dashboards, reports, executive briefing materials, and governance committee presentations. Support project implementation planning, monitoring, and reporting activities. Develop financial management materials and project-related communications as required. Coordinate governance committee materials, meetings, attendance, and related documentation. Present updates, recommendations, and risk mitigation strategies to various governance and executive committees. Qualifications Required Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role managing large-scale, multi-year, complex technology projects. Minimum 5 years of experience in project/program management within a government or public sector environment. Demonstrated expertise across all phases of project management, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout. Experience working with senior government executives and decision-makers. Experience leading executive governance cycles and the development of executive briefing materials. Experience managing complex project interdependencies, risks, and stakeholder relationships. Proven ability to develop strategic project plans, recommendations, and options analyses. Experience integrating vendor commitments and tracking contractual deliverables. Experience maintaining project management artefacts such as plans, reports, briefing notes, meeting minutes, and change requests. Communication & Relationship Management Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong executive presentation and briefing development experience. Ability to translate complex technical information into clear business language. Proven relationship management, facilitation, consultation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience providing strategic advice on complex and high-profile initiatives. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including senior executives. Program Management Skills Strong governance and executive reporting experience. Expertise in strategic planning and coordination across multiple projects and teams. Experience developing recommendations and decision packages for executive committees. Strong planning, organizational, and workload management capabilities. Ability to manage high-priority deliverables in fast-paced environments. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate options and recommend solutions. Experience synthesizing technical, operational, financial, and stakeholder information into actionable insights. Ability to support executive decision-making through data-driven analysis and reporting. Additional Requirements Successful completion of applicable security clearance requirements may be required. Experience working within large public sector organizations is highly preferred. Experience working with multiple stakeholders and governance structures is highly desirable. Knowledge Transfer Requirements Transfer completed and in-progress deliverables, documentation, and project artefacts. Share methodologies and processes used in developing deliverables. Transfer stakeholder management tools, supporting analysis, and project information. Provide knowledge-sharing sessions with project managers and team members.
