STEM PhD Expert Location: Remote Engagement Type: Hourly Contract (Part-Time) Compensation: $65 –$100/hour Commitment: 10–20 hours per week (flexible up to 40 hours per week) About the Opportunity This opportunity is for STEM PhD professionals interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. The role involves applying deep academic and research expertise to help improve the reasoning, accuracy, and scientific capabilities of next-generation AI systems. You will design domain-specific problems, evaluate AI-generated responses, and develop high-quality reference solutions that strengthen how large language models (LLMs) reason across scientific and engineering disciplines. Ideal Qualifications PhD in a STEM discipline, including: Mechanical Engineering Chemical Engineering Electrical Engineering Biology Chemistry Physics Mathematics Computer Science Or a closely related STEM field Undergraduate degree completed in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, or India. Strong research background with deep subject matter expertise. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy. Responsibilities Create high-quality, domain-specific problems and reference solutions within your area of expertise. Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, reasoning, and scientific validity. Provide expert feedback to improve the performance of advanced AI systems. Collaborate with AI researchers and fellow subject matter experts to refine evaluation quality. Document methodologies, assumptions, and evaluation findings clearly and accurately.
