Job details

Systematix is currently seeking experienced Business Analysts to support our client, a major Canadian insurance organization, in the ongoing development, enhancement, and operational support of a modern insurance technology platform. This engagement focuses on supporting Agile delivery teams responsible for a custom-built application leveraging event-based architecture, .NET microservices, and modern DevOps practices. The role will be instrumental in translating business needs into clear requirements, supporting product delivery, and ensuring alignment between business stakeholders and technical teams. The successful consultants will work closely with Product Owners, developers, testers, and business stakeholders to support requirements gathering, process analysis, testing, and continuous improvement. The positions will also involve supporting Agile ceremonies and performing Scrum Master responsibilities as required. THE ROLE – BUSINESS ANALYST (AUTO FUND DELIVERY) As a Business Analyst, you will support the ongoing delivery, enhancement, and operational activities of a modern insurance application platform. Working within an Agile product delivery environment, you will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, document business processes, develop user stories, and support testing and implementation activities. You will contribute to the effective delivery of solutions built on an event-based microservices architecture, working closely with development and testing teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and successfully implemented. In addition to core Business Analysis responsibilities, you will support Agile ceremonies, facilitate collaboration, and perform Scrum Master duties as required to maintain delivery momentum and team effectiveness. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation activities with business and technical stakeholders. Gather stakeholder feedback and translate business needs into clear, actionable business and technical requirements. Define and document functional, non-functional, security, and testing requirements. Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, testers, and other technical stakeholders throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle. Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder discussions, discovery sessions, and process analysis activities. Analyze existing business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend practical solutions. Support Agile/Scrum delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Perform Scrum Master responsibilities as required, facilitating ceremonies, addressing delivery impediments, and promoting team collaboration. Support testing activities, including test planning, requirements validation, defect analysis, and coordination with testing teams. Assist with production support activities, issue investigation, and ongoing application enhancements. Use Azure DevOps or similar tools to manage requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery progress. Work collaboratively with technical teams supporting applications built using event-based architecture and microservices. Monitor delivery progress, identify risks and dependencies, and communicate issues to appropriate stakeholders. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance delivery efficiency, product quality, and team effectiveness. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 3–5 years of demonstrated Business Analysis experience, preferably within technology or application development environments. Advanced knowledge of requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation techniques. Advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working within Agile software delivery teams. Experience using Azure DevOps or comparable tools to manage user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements, and product backlogs. Demonstrated experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, requirements sessions, and business process discussions. Strong business process analysis and documentation capabilities. Proven ability to translate complex business needs into clear requirements that can be understood and implemented by technical teams. Experience collaborating with Product Owners, software developers, quality assurance teams, and other technical stakeholders. Experience supporting application testing, defect management, and requirements validation. Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced Agile delivery environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to collaborative, cross-functional teams.
