Understand better who we are by visiting www.systracanada.com. Context We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing and Drainage) to support the Stops & TPSS scope of an LRT project. The role is responsible for preparing the plumbing and fire fighting design brief, mechanical design brief, technical specifications, and discipline calculations across multiple stop locations. Missions/Main Duties Produce the Plumbing and Fire Fighting Design Brief and the mechanical technical specifications. Prepare plumbing and fire fighting calculations across stops. Define platform drains, slab penetrations, sleeves, and pipe routing. Issue the schedule of locations, invert levels, and pipe sizes required by Civil & Utilities. Define floor drainage, sumps, water piping, and drainage piping across sites. Review plumbing plans, fire fighting plans, piping sections, and details prepared by the Mechanical Modeller. Coordinate the handover point with the Civil Engineer (Grading and Drainage) where mechanical drainage connects to the civil storm network. Profile/Skills University degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical design for buildings or transit infrastructure, covering plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and building services. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering, licensed or eligible for licensure in Ontario. Experience defining slab penetrations, floor drainage, sumps, and service connections and issuing them to a civil contractor. Knowledge of OBC, NFPA, and CSA B149, as well as Ontario plumbing and fire protection requirements. SYSTRA Canada is committed to having a diverse and inclusive workforce.
