Role Description: Key Responsibilities: Test Design Strategy: • Develop detailed test plans and strategies for API testing, covering functional, non-functional, integration, and regression scenarios. • Identify test cases based on requirements, technical specifications, and user stories. • Design and maintain automated and manual test cases for RESTful and SOAP APIs. • Test Execution: Execute API tests using automation tools (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, JMeter) and manual techniques. Validate request response payloads, headers, authentication, and error handling Conduct performance, security, and reliability testing of APIs. • Collaboration: Discussions Participate in API design reviews and discussions, providing quality assurance insights and recommendations. Advocate for testability, maintainability, and robust error handling in API design. Work closely with developers, architects, and product owners to clarify requirements and resolve defects. • Automation Continuous Integration: Build and maintain API test automation frameworks. Integrate API tests into CICD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Monitor test results and provide timely feedback to stakeholders • Defect Management: Reporting Log, track, and prioritize defects using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. Analyze failures, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate for quick resolution. Prepare and present test reports, metrics, and quality dashboards. • Quality Advocacy Champion: QA best practices, standards, and continuous improvement within the team. Mentor junior Es and share knowledge on API testing techniques and tools. • Required Skills Qualifications bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. Good years of experience in API testing and quality engineering Proficient in API testing tools (Postman, Rest Assured, SoapUI, JMeter). Strong knowledge of HTTP, REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and API authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.). Good Experience with test automation frameworks. Salary Range - CA$ 80,000 - CA$ 100,000 Per Year TCS does not use artificial intelligence tools for candidate screening or evaluation. This post is for a current vacancy.
