About Taylor+ At Taylor+ we believe that adding value for our customers in Commercial Office, Retail or Industrial assets is fundamental to our approach. Our Taylor+ approach will seek innovative ways to support the success of our customers and will find opportunities for customer and customer employee engagement. We realize that to be truly different as a Company, the Taylor+ approach must be innovatively built for our customers and teammates to establish the value of the Taylor+ environments. Specialty Leasing & Events Lead This role requires a highly motivated individual with seasoned experience to drive ancillary revenue and curate a dynamic, ever-evolving tenant mix for our retail portfolio, including flagship/boutique assets such as Yorkville Village. This role owns temporary and short-term leasing — pop-ups, kiosks, carts, vending, and brand activations — as well as media and sponsorship sales, ensuring these opportunities align with the centre's premium positioning while meeting revenue targets. The ideal candidate is a strong dealmaker with an eye for brand fit and experience operating in a luxury or lifestyle retail environment. Taylor+ is an organization that puts customers and clients first. We believe in success by anticipating needs, being honest and considerate. All Taylor Co. team members go above and beyond in this pursuit. You will be responsible for: Specialty Leasing & Ancillary Income - Identify, prospect, and negotiate specialty leasing deals — pop-ups, kiosks, carts, vending, and temporary activations — that align with the centre's premium positioning and tenant mix. - Build and manage a pipeline of prospective specialty tenants and brand concepts, proactively sourcing new opportunities rather than waiting on inbound interest. - Prepare, negotiate, and manage specialty leasing licenses/agreements, coordinating with legal and property management on terms, insurance, and compliance. - Manage the physical placement and rotation of specialty leasing units/carts/kiosks to optimize revenue and maintain the centre's aesthetic and traffic flow. - Track and report specialty leasing revenue and occupancy against budget/targets, and forecast future performance. Media & Sponsorship Sales - Manage media and sponsorship sales (signage, digital displays, branded activations, naming rights where applicable). - Build and maintain relationships with media buyers, agencies, and sponsorship partners to maximize revenue from advertising and branded placements. - Ensure sponsorship and media placements align with brand standards and do not conflict with existing tenant or category exclusivities. Events & Placemaking - Plan, budget, and execute a calendar of on-property events — seasonal activations, brand partnerships, community events, and experiential marketing — that reinforce the centre's positioning and drive traffic during key retail periods. - Manage vendors, contractors, entertainment, and logistics for events, ensuring smooth execution and brand consistency. - Partner with tenants to incorporate them into events and activations in ways that support their business goals and the centre's overall guest experience. - Measure event performance (attendance, engagement, sales lift where available) and refine programming accordingly. - Coordinate with security/operations on event logistics, safety, and site access. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner closely with leasing, marketing, property management, and asset management to ensure marketing and events support overall leasing and NOI objectives. - Support ownership/asset management reporting on marketing performance and event ROI. - Align marketing campaigns and events calendar with specialty leasing activations and sponsorship commitments. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or related field required. Real Estate Licence a preference but not required. - 5–8+ years of experience in specialty leasing, retail leasing, or commercial real estate revenue management — experience with luxury, lifestyle, or boutique retail centres strongly preferred. - Proven track record sourcing and negotiating specialty leasing, pop-up, or sponsorship deals and meeting ancillary revenue targets. - Strong negotiation and deal-structuring skills, with working knowledge of licensing agreements and lease-adjacent legal terms. - Excellent relationship-management and prospecting skills, with the ability to engage and close deals with emerging brands, established retailers, and sponsors alike. - Strong analytical and budgeting skills, with experience reporting on revenue performance to ownership or senior leadership. - Highly organized, able to manage multiple concurrent deals, tenants, and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. What Success Looks Like - Specialty leasing and sponsorship revenue consistently meeting or exceeding budgeted targets. - A curated, rotating specialty tenant mix that keeps the centre feeling fresh without disrupting permanent tenant relationships. - Strong, repeatable relationships with specialty brands, media buyers, and sponsors. - Smooth, well-documented deal execution with minimal legal or operational friction.
