Role : Python Developer Location: Mississauga, ON, Canada Job Type: FTE Salary : CAD 120K + Benefits Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with strong programming skills and hands-on experience in the banking or financial services domain. The ideal candidate will develop, enhance, and maintain scalable applications, APIs, and data processing solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable financial technology solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Python. Build and integrate RESTful APIs, backend services, and data processing solutions. Work with SQL databases to develop queries, optimize performance, and manage data. Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and other developers to deliver banking applications. Translate business and technical requirements into efficient, scalable solutions. Follow secure coding practices, coding standards, and software development best practices. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes. Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and Agile ceremonies. Ensure solutions meet banking standards for data security, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience in Python development. Mandatory banking or financial services domain experience. Proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and backend services. Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and design principles. Experience with Git, unit testing frameworks such as PyTest or unittest, and debugging tools. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with banking applications, payment systems, transaction processing, risk management, lending, or regulatory reporting. Familiarity with financial data, banking workflows, and data security requirements. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices architecture. Must-Have Skills: Python, Banking/Financial Services Domain Experience, SQL, REST APIs, Backend Development, and Agile Methodology.
