Job Description The Distribution Planning Manager at Techo-Bloc is responsible for leading and developing the Distribution Planning team while ensuring the efficient movement of inventory across the network to support customer service and business objectives. The role combines people leadership, operational execution, and strategic planning by driving KPI performance, fostering continuous improvement, and strengthening collaboration between Distribution Planning, Transportation, and other cross-functional teams. Through coaching, data-driven decision-making, and process optimization, the Distribution Planning Manager ensures the team delivers high service levels, maintains inventory efficiency, and contributes to the company's overall supply chain strategy Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop a team of Distribution Planners to achieve departmental objectives. Conduct performance reviews, one on one meetings, and support employee development plans. Empower team members by involving them in decision-making and problem-solving, encouraging ownership and accountability. Ensure workload is balanced and team members have the tools and support needed to succeed. Foster a collaborative, engaged, and high-performing team environment. Performance Management & KPI Tracking Monitor team performance through KPIs and operational metrics. Identify performance gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities. Drive accountability by involving planners in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide regular KPI analysis and recommendations to management. Communication & Collaboration Act as the main liaison between the Distribution Planning team and management. Translate organizational objectives into clear direction and ensure the team understands how their work contributes to company goals. Represent Distribution Planning in cross-functional meetings and initiatives. Collaborate closely with Transportation and other departments to support business goals. Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement Build team capabilities and elevate strategic thinking by connecting day-to-day activities to broader company strategy and vision. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that leverage automation & data-driven decision-making. Develop team understanding of network strategy, inventory positioning, and service level impact. Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Oversee departmental reporting tools and ensure the accuracy of planning analyses. Human Resources Manage payroll validation and support recruitment, onboarding, and employee retention efforts. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in distribution planning, supply chain, or inventory management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team in a fast-paced operational environment. Strong analytical mindset with experience tracking KPIs, identifying trends, and translating data into actionable decisions. Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization within a supply chain or distribution context. Proficiency in ERP and MRP systems; experience with Microsoft D365 is a strong asset. Advanced proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate strategic objectives into clear team direction. Comfortable working cross-functionally and building relationships with Transportation, Operations, and other departments. Bilingualism (French/English) — Due to frequent communication with employees in Quebec, Ontario and the United States. Experience with payroll validation, recruitment, or HR processes is an asset.
