AI Engineer/ Software Developer - Full Stack - Senior 5-month contract Fully Onsite in Toronto Demonstrated experience designing, developing and integrating AI-enabled applications, including Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, agent-based workflows, document processing solutions, and human-in-the-loop review and approval processes. This role will support the development of the Curriculum AI Assistant Platform, which combines AI agents and user workflows to accelerate curriculum development while keeping curriculum experts responsible for all decisions and approvals. Must Have: Design, develop, test and support AI-powered applications and workflows Develop and integrate AI agents into a secure web-based platform Develop APIs and application services that support AI capabilities, document processing and workflow automation. Implement human-in-the-loop workflows that allow users to review, validate and approve AI-generated content. Full Stack Development and Solution Architecture Experience designing, developing, testing and supporting enterprise web applications. Experience with front-end and back-end development using modern development frameworks and design patterns. Experience designing and implementing scalable application architectures. Experience developing and integrating REST APIs, application services and middleware components. Experience integrating front-end applications with APIs and backend services. Experience working with relational databases, data modelling, SQL and data integration solutions. Experience designing, developing, testing, debugging and maintaining application code. Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes. Experience developing AI-enabled applications using Large Language Models (LLMs), AI services or AI platforms. Experience designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), knowledge retrieval and document processing solutions. Experience developing and integrating AI agents and multi-step workflow solutions. Experience implementing human-in-the-loop workflows that support review, validation and approval processes. Experience implementing source traceability, output validation and auditability features. Experience working with Azure services such as Azure Functions, API Management, Logic Apps or similar cloud technologies. Experience implementing Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), authentication and authorization controls. Understanding of Angular, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and modern web development practices.
