Cybersecurity Analyst Employment Type: Full-Time Category: Cybersecurity / Information Technology About the Role We are looking for an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst to join a growing technology and infrastructure team. This is a hands-on technical cybersecurity role focused on protecting enterprise networks, infrastructure, cloud environments, systems, and data. The successful candidate will bring strong experience with Fortinet technologies, network security, network segmentation, vulnerability management, incident response, and Microsoft Azure/Microsoft 365 security. What You’ll Do Administer, maintain, configure, and monitor Fortinet security technologies, including FortiGate firewalls and related security products. Support the design and implementation of a major network-segmentation initiative. Configure and manage firewalls, security zones, access controls, IDS/IPS, network devices, and other security technologies. Monitor security events, alerts, sensors, and data sources and escalate potential threats when required. Investigate cybersecurity incidents, suspected breaches, and high-severity security alerts. Participate in incident response, investigation, containment, remediation, and recovery activities. Perform vulnerability assessments, security testing, risk analysis, and technical security reviews. Work with technical teams to prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities. Secure and monitor Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. Assess infrastructure, networks, applications, cloud environments, and new technology initiatives for cybersecurity risks. Evaluate vendor technologies and services against organizational security and data-protection requirements. Research emerging threats and cybersecurity technologies and provide recommendations. Prepare security reports and technical updates covering vulnerabilities, incidents, controls, and overall security posture. Provide cybersecurity guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to internal teams. Participate in after-hours response for high-severity security incidents when required. What We’re Looking For Approximately 5–6 years of progressive hands-on cybersecurity experience. Strong hands-on Fortinet experience is essential, including FortiGate firewalls and related Fortinet security technologies. Practical experience with network segmentation, firewall configuration, security zones, access controls, and network-security architecture. Strong understanding of enterprise networking, infrastructure, network protocols, operating systems, firewalls, and cloud security. At least 2 years of experience securing and monitoring Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. Experience with vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, vulnerability remediation, and security testing tools. Hands-on experience investigating cybersecurity incidents and supporting incident response. Experience administering and maintaining enterprise cybersecurity tools and infrastructure. Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, security controls, and defensive practices. Relevant certifications such as Fortinet, Security+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC, Microsoft Security, or comparable credentials are an asset. Experience within financial services, insurance, or another regulated environment is considered an asset. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills. Who Will Succeed in This Role You are a hands-on cybersecurity professional who enjoys solving technical security problems rather than working exclusively in governance or policy. You are comfortable getting into firewall configurations, network segmentation, vulnerability findings, cloud security, and security incidents. You are also proactive, accountable, detail-oriented, and able to communicate security risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
