Job summary
We are partnering with a growing health-technology organization to find an experienced, strategic Director, Cloud & Managed Services. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of cloud operations, platform engineering, automation, and customer delivery. You will lead multidisciplinary technical teams, shape a cloud-native strategy, and help scale secure, reliable services that make a meaningful difference in healthcare. While this is a fully remote role, candidates must be based in the GTA and available for occasional in-person leadership and team meetings in Toronto. What you’ll lead Build, lead, and develop scalable Cloud and Managed Services, platform engineering, DevOps, and deployment automation teams. Define and deliver the roadmap for cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, GitOps, and platform reliability. Ensure high availability, security, scalability, and operational readiness across SaaS, managed-service, and customer-managed environments. Drive standardization and automation to improve delivery consistency, reduce manual effort, and enhance the customer experience. Partner with Engineering, Product, Professional Services, Security, Client Success, and senior leadership on strategy, priorities, and service delivery. Lead incident and problem-resolution efforts, continuous improvement initiatives, governance, and operational maturity. Build trusted relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders, including participation in strategic pre-sales and service discussions. Manage planning, budgets, resource allocation, service commitments, and evolving business priorities. What you bring Proven Director-level—or higher—leadership experience; this is not a first-time Director opportunity. HealthTech experience and a strong understanding of healthcare customers, market dynamics, and cloud-services needs. 7+ years of senior cloud operations, managed services, or IT leadership experience in complex technology environments. Experience leading cloud and technical teams, particularly teams working extensively with Kubernetes. Strong multi-cloud expertise, including AWS and Azure. Deep experience with platform engineering, DevOps, automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, release automation, and deployment standardization. A track record of developing leaders and scaling cloud operations or managed-services capabilities with a strong customer focus. Knowledge of ITSM, networking, cybersecurity, enterprise support, observability, and security-by-design practices. Experience with healthcare-relevant security and compliance frameworks such as ITIL, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 is highly valued. Strong executive communication, stakeholder-management, and client-facing skills. Experience leading primarily North American-based technical teams is preferred. A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered. Relevant certifications such as CISM, CCSP, CISSP, ITIL, or TOGAF are assets.
