Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Site Superintendent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and a proven track record of successfully managing a variety of construction projects from kick-off to completion. This position is pivotal in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and quality control. As the quarterback of the project team, the Site Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager - on the successful completion of projects on time, and within budget. Like other senior roles embedding an environment of mentorship and training on the job site is critical to the brand's success. The Superintendent is the primary on-site contact and the glue between our extensive trade partnerships, architectural/design partners, clients, and Construction team members. Outcomes of the Role Exceptional Project Delivery Executing the project details to meet the highest level of craftsmanship while proactively communicating to lead the on-site construction teams. Safety Foster a culture of safety on job sites, ensuring everyone goes home daily. Deepening Relationships Establish and strengthen trade partner and professional partner relationships to foster collaboration and efficient project execution. Mentorship Working with the on-site team to create best practice methods and standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and provide consistent results. Financial Management Aiding the Project Manager in adhering to the project budget and managing the change order process. Responsibilities Exceptional Project Delivery Communication: Clearly communicate project details, timelines, and expectations to both internal and external team members by hosting bi-weekly project meetings to ensure that details are conveyed, deadlines are met, and high craftsmanship is maintained. Scheduling and Planning: Assist the Project Manager in maintaining the overall schedule by coordinating in-house resources and trade partners using a three-week look-ahead to minimize trade overlap and ensure efficient use of in-house resources. Close-out: Complete finals checklists and execute the deficiency list. Coordinate the day-of city and other inspections with collaboration from the Project Coordinator. Coordinating with the Property Management company (third party) re: move-in dates and other details. Safety Ensure a safe working environment by setting up initial site safety, monitoring health and safety protocols, and conducting daily protection/toolbox talks to encourage compliance among all field staff. Report trade partner non-compliance to the project manager, and manage incidents through WCB protocols. Deepening Relationships Expanding trade base to match the increasing size and complexity of projects. Instituting proactive scheduling to ensure readiness for trade partners ahead of schedule. Facilitate one-on-one discussions to work on improving relationships and worksite flow. Mentorship Work with internal team members to continue developing their skill sets. Provide ongoing support and feedback to internal team members as required. Collaborating with the Operations Manager for bi-annual performance reviews with feedback. Systematization Job packages: In tandem with the Project Manager, ensuring all trade partners are working from the most recent information, have design selections available to them, and install details are being followed accordingly. Trade Partners: Maintain contracts to ensure each scope of work is understood and executed in accordance with the construction documents. Professional Partners: Tracking and recording required reports, such as municipal site inspections, structural and other engineering reports, and energy modeling requirements. Weekly project progress reporting: Using Buildwise's daily logs. Production Checklists: Maintain and update as required to ensure QA/QC. After Action Reports (AARs): Discuss lessons learned and measure team performance and efficiencies. Financials Change Order: Aiding the project manager in tracking time, materials, and progress on any variances from initial trade scopes at the time of award. Budget Monitoring: Providing feedback and assistance to the project manager and operations manager during construction to ensure that project budgets are realistic and achievable through real-time cost monitoring. You provide fair and constructive feedback to better the performance and career development of Construction’s internal team members as well as the external trade partner network. You are inquisitive, keep a high-level view of the company's success and failures, and are not afraid to question and refine processes as needed. Ideal Background Experience You have experience in underground parking, concrete construction, and multi-family projects. You have townhome and subdivision community building experience, including infrastructure and servicing. Compensation Competitive salary and benefits package based on experience.
