Job summary

Role Overview As an Ecommerce Business Analyst at Teifi Digital, you will collaborate with the Delivery team to implement Shopify Plus stores, apps, and integrations. Your responsibilities include facilitating discovery meetings, gathering business and functional requirements, and producing discovery outputs that guide project design and solutioning. You will act as a bridge between merchant strategy and technical execution, managing feature requests, investigating issues, and facilitating enhancements alongside cross-functional teams. Beyond configuring Shopify Plus storefronts and apps, you will play a key role in Quality Assurance (QA) by developing test suites, validating features against business requirements, and leading UAT to ensure reliable, high-quality deliverables. By translating merchant goals into detailed user stories, functional requirements, and data mappings, you enable developers and designers to build storefronts that drive revenue and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Shopify & eCommerce Platform Configuration Configure and support Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts, including themes, settings, metafields, and structured data. Translate merchant business requirements into Shopify-native and custom solutions eCommerce Requirements & Discovery Facilitate and participate in discovery meetings with merchants to elicit, validate, and document business and technical requirements. Write detailed user stories, functional requirements, and process diagrams to guide the Solution Architect and development team. Document features, functional and non-functional requirements, and user stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria. Support prioritization and backlog grooming, and help define what "done" looks like for each release. Quality Assurance & Testing Write test suites and validate completed features and implementations against documented business and functional requirements to ensure alignment with project goals. Lead functional, exploratory, and usability testing across storefronts, integrations, and customer journeys. Coordinate and support UAT with merchants; document and track issues in tools such as Linear or Jira. Systems & Commerce Integrations Collaborate with developers and partners to integrate Shopify with ERP, CRM, PIM, OMS, payment gateways, tax, shipping, and other third-party platforms. Support data mapping and validation for products, pricing, inventory, orders, and customers. Backlog & Documentation Management Maintain and prioritize eCommerce backlogs. Produce clear documentation, including user stories, process flows, system diagrams, and release notes. Stakeholder Collaboration Act as a key liaison between merchants, developers, designers, and project managers to ensure alignment, clarity, and smooth delivery. Communicate complex eCommerce concepts in a clear, merchant-friendly way. Merchant Enablement & Training Create and deliver training materials and sessions for Shopify workflows, admin tools, and new features/apps. Support merchants post-launch to ensure confidence and adoption. Agile Delivery Support Participate in and support agile ceremonies,including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Qualifications Working knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem (Shopify Plus, apps, app proxies, metafields, Flow, checkout extensibility) or similar eCommerce integration experience is a core requirement. Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner, with a strong background in gathering requirements and documenting discovery sessions for eCommerce projects. Understanding of agile methodologies and SDLC. Solid understanding of eCommerce concepts, best practices, cart & checkout flows, and user/customer experience principles. Familiarity with systems integration concepts: APIs, webhooks, data synchronization, and mapping data between systems. Familiarity with integrating eCommerce platforms with ERP, CRM, payment providers, shipping, and tax solutions. Experience writing and conducting detailed test suites, QA and UAT Experience with issue tracking platforms like Linear or Jira and managing backlogs, and supporting sprint/release planning. Experience leading or facilitating stakeholder interviews and discovery sessions. Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong written communication and excellent technical writing skills, specifically with user stories and functional specifications.
