Full Stack Developer (Web & Shopify App Development)

Role Overview We are seeking a Full Stack Developer focused on building high-performing e-commerce solutions with expertise in web and Shopify app development. In this role, you will build custom microservices, private apps, and integrations for our clients, as well as contribute to the development of Teifi Labs products. You will be responsible for back-end development using TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, GraphQL, and REST APIs, while also contributing to front-end work using React where necessary. A strong track record in Shopify Plus customizations and third-party app integrations. Skilled at delivering scalable, responsive experiences optimized for both performance and usability.. Key Responsibilities * Build and maintain backend integrations, microservices, and private apps * Work with TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, and REST APIs * Integrate third-party platforms like ERPs, WMS, and POS systems * Contribute to a modern monorepo setup and internal tooling * Support frontend (where necessary) with React, Shopify Polaris, and Remix * Design, build, and maintain integrations across APIs, webhooks, and middleware to connect systems and streamline data flow * Manage and configure backend integrations with ERP and PIM systems, ensuring reliable performance and scalability * Lead data migration projects end-to-end, including data mapping, transformation, and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity * Architect and deliver end-to-end technical solutions, translating business requirements into scalable, well-structured designs * Drive project delivery using Agile and sprint-based methodologies, keeping stakeholders aligned and work on track * Collaborate with global teams using GitHub, Linear, and Notion * Participate in sprints, scoping, code reviews, and team discussions * Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, particularly in app integrations and customizations for Shopify Plus clients * Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and app infrastructure * Maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) * Provide on-call support as required Qualifications * 4–6 years of experience as a backend or full stack developer * A degree in Computer Science or a closely related field * Strong in TypeScript and Node.js * Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, REST APIs, GraphQL * Experience working with scalable integrations and backend architecture * In-depth knowledge of Shopify's architecture, APIs, and app ecosystem * Experience integrating third-party services such as ERPs, WMS, and POS systems with Shopify * Hands-on Shopify experience (themes, apps, Liquid, Shopify APIs) strongly preferred * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in building scalable, secure applications * Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a remote/hybrid environment * Proactive mindset and a collaborative working style * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-friendly engineering culture Benefits & Perks * Ongoing professional development through training programs, certifications, and peer mentorship. * Hybrid work model depending on role, with a Granville Island office and free on-site parking. * Flexibility in work hours designed to accommodate appointments and personal responsibilities. * Comprehensive health and dental coverage in Canada, plus a health spending account. * Paid office closure between Christmas and New Year’s. * Regular team culture events, stocked office snacks, and a dog friendly workplace. * Performance based bonus opportunities for full-time employees.
