Job summary
Senior Databricks Platform Architect — Energy & Oil/Gas Company Background: TekRek has partnered with a boutique data and AI consultancy operating at the intersection of Azure, Databricks, and energy. This firm takes a white-glove, platform-first approach to digital transformation, working primarily with oil and gas majors, energy companies, and geo-science organizations across North America. Their delivery model is nearshore-focused: same time zone, senior resources, and deep domain expertise are non-negotiable. They are a Databricks partner and Microsoft Azure partner, and their practice spans advisory, data and ML engineering, and AI activation. This is a contract engagement for a senior Databricks architect with genuine energy sector experience. The right candidate will plug in immediately, no ramp time, and deliver at a senior architecture level from day one. Job Description: You will be joining a boutique consultancy as a Senior Databricks Platform Architect on a contract basis, embedded within client engagements in the energy and oil and gas sector. This is a rare opportunity to work with a boutique firm that punches well above its weight — a tight-knit team of senior specialists who are doing genuinely interesting work with some of the largest energy companies in North America. You will not be one of hundreds of contractors. You will be a known, valued contributor with direct access to leadership and real influence over how engagements are delivered. The firm values domain expertise and technical credibility above all else. If you have built real things in energy on Databricks, this engagement was designed for you. Rate: commensurate with experience. Engagement type: contract. Location: remote.
