Job Title – Senior Data Modeler Job Location – Toronto, Canada (Hybrid) Experience level – 5+ Years Job type –­ Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Data Modeler to design and govern the semantic layer and core financial data models for our enterprise analytics platform. This role involves leading data architecture across Workday Financials, planning engines, AWS QuickSight, and downstream AI/LLM tools. The ideal candidate will own end-to-end modeling for foundational setups, financial rollups, and variance reporting while establishing strict governance and reconciliation frameworks. Responsibilities: Enforce semantic standards including naming conventions, keys, sign conventions, currency, and identity mastering Maintain an enterprise data dictionary structured for AI/LLM readiness (Gemini Enterprise/MCP).Architect high-frequency, version-aware data models for Workday GL and planning data, enabling sub-15-minute refreshes. Write transformation logic using dbt with strict CI/CD, access logging, and optimization for AWS QuickSight and Google Sheets integration. Implement data structures supporting daily zero-tolerance trial-balance reconciliations, break management, audit sign-offs, and Workday-aligned RBAC. Build data models for Management P&L and Plan vs. Actuals, ensuring accurate financial reporting. Mandatory Skills: 7+ years in data modeling and data warehousing with deep domain expertise in Corporate Finance, Accounting, or FP&A. Advanced SQL, dbt, dimensional modeling, and experience modeling Workday Financials GL APIs and planning engines. Hands-on experience modeling for AWS QuickSight and structuring metadata for enterprise AI/LLM ingestion. Proven track record in audited environments with strict release management, access logging, and trial-balance reconciliation. Preferred Skills: Expertise in Python and Robot Framework Regular experience with CI/CD processes. Qualifications: Proven experience in data modeling with a focus on financial data.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
