Description Location: Quebec City, Quebec (on-site), on-site parking availableStatus: Temporary (12 months), full-time (40 hours/week)Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Join the Team The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for managing disability cases, preserving and promoting employees’ physical and psychological health, reducing risks, and improving overall performance. The nurse acts as a clinical professional, subject matter expert, and strategic partner to management and Human Resources teams. The position also contributes to workplace absenteeism management. Here’s How Disability and Workplace Accidents Manage and follow up on medical files, and determine the appropriate actions to be taken in disability and CNESST cases; Recommend, coordinate, and ensure the successful implementation of return-to-work plans following long-term absences; Establish and analyze performance indicators to enable proactive management of absenteeism and disability cases; Participate in workplace accident investigations and enter medical information into the computerized management system Health Program Administer the employee health program by planning and conducting medical examinations and maintaining up-to-date medical records; Analyze medical examination results, arrange follow-ups when required, and implement applicable corrective measures; Review the health program annually based on company requirements and the latest developments in occupational health; Ensure the maintenance and calibration of medical equipment Emergency and First Aid Management Provide medical and clinical care in the event of injuries or occupational illnesses involving Valero employees and contractors; Coordinate interventions and manage first responders during medical emergencies; Manage the inventory of first aid supplies, place orders, and ensure that supplies are kept up to date; Train temporary staff to cover annual shutdown and vacation periods (nurses and paramedics) Prevention Develop, recommend, and implement preventive measures; Coordinate the health and wellness program as well as the psychosocial risk management program; Participate in monthly meetings with all nurses across the Valero network; Plan, organize, and implement the annual influenza vaccination campaign; Analyze data and recommend health promotion activities Absenteeism Management Support managers in managing disability cases within their teams; Monitor and understand performance indicators and propose actions to improve them Qualifications You Bring Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Nursing or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Minimum of 5 years of clinical or professional nursing experience; Member in good standing of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ); Experience managing disability cases; Relevant experience in occupational health and an industrial environment is an asset; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); A high level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality; Strong planning and organizational skills; Strong customer-service orientation; Functional English proficiency to communicate both orally and in writing with English-speaking colleagues Intermediate English proficiency is required, as you will regularly be expected to interact in English with external parties (e.g., clients, suppliers, or external partners), communicate in English with internal parties (e.g., colleagues or stakeholders), and work in an English-language IT environment as part of the duties associated with this position, which has a provincial scope. Requirements
Candidates must hold a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and be a member of the OIIQ. A minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and functional English skills.
