Position Description Currently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time Lead Electrical Designer. Responsibilities Lead and oversee the development of complete electrical engineering, design, and drafting work packages for energy sector projects. Produce and review high-quality industrial electrical deliverables, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), low/medium voltage power schematics, physical layouts, cable schedules, panel layouts, I/O schematics, and wiring diagrams. Support FEED activities, including input into design schedules, equipment estimating, MTO generation, and procurement packages. Lead the execution and review of industrial design calculations, including equipment and cable sizing/selection, lighting levels, voltage drop, and cable tray fill. Drive quality assurance across design packages, ensuring compliance with client standards, drafting conventions, and project schedules while monitoring deliverable progress. Manage technical coordination with equipment vendors, review vendor drawings, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary engineering and project team members. Provide direct technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate and junior designers, fostering discipline growth in constructability, schedule impacts, change management, cost awareness, and environmental considerations. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Electrical Design Technology from an accredited technical institute, or extensive equivalent industry design experience. Extensive background in office-based electrical design execution for industrial energy sector projects (EPC/consulting environment). Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and Bluebeam Revu for digital markups and redline reviews. Experience with SmartPlant (SP3D/SPI) and specialized software (e.g., EHT calculation tools) would be considered a strong asset. Deep understanding of industrial electrical calculations (cable/protection sizing, EHT, tray fill, lighting) and a solid working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC). Practical construction, modular layout, or fabrication experience would be considered a strong asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, guide technical teams, and communicate effectively across internal departments, clients, and vendors. Requirements

Candidates should have advanced AutoCAD, NavisWorks, and Bluebeam Revu skills, knowledge of industrial electrical calculations and the Canadian Electrical Code, and the ability to guide teams and coordinate effectively.
