Footwear Designer – APS (Aldo Product Services) ALDO Group‘s wholesale (APS) division is an industry-recognized wholesale distributor and third-party sourcing provider of fashion footwear, handbags and accessories. ALDO Product Services (APS) has branded wholesale, private label and brand management partnerships with some of the largest retailers in the world. Reporting into the Director, the designer will get the chance to be part of a growing team and work on some exciting product. We are looking for a talented designer who possesses the technical and creative skills to execute product design and who can offer the customer what they’ll want next. Key Responsibilities · Research, identify and interpret key trends and establish color pallets each season · Source and organize materials · Develop styling that is brand right and appropriate for the season · Translate ideas into hand and technical sketches · Produce technical packages and details for designs and development · Develop relationships and work closely with suppliers to develop market needs · Support sample development (prototypes, sales, and confirmation) to ensure proper execution. · Follow design calendar and meet appropriate deadlines · Assist in preparation for presentations Key Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design · 2 to 5 years’ experience in design · Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. *Some knowledge in InDesign would also be an asset. · Excellent technical and hand sketching abilities · Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, Word) · Keen sense of fashion, trends and pop culture · Strong attention to details and organizational skills · Ability to work well under pressure · Excellent interpersonal skills and disposition Building a culture of belonging We firmly believe that the diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and identities is a fundamental strength of the ALDO Group.
