Job summary
ITM Mining Solutions Location: Field-based in Fort McMurray Travel: Regular regional and remote-site travel required Schedule: 14 on/ 14 off Required Experience Minimum of five years of experience in a technical, mechanical, quality, product-support or field-service position. Experience in mining, heavy equipment, earthmoving equipment or industrial manufacturing is strongly preferred. Experience working with mining customers, distributors or heavy-equipment maintenance teams is an asset. A technical diploma, trade qualification or post-secondary education in mechanical technology, is an asset. Equivalent industry experience will be considered. Technical Knowledge and Skills Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability. Knowledge of crawler undercarriage systems and components. Understanding of product functionality, applications and operating limitations. Knowledge of earthmoving machinery, operating conditions and mechanical stresses. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality standards and production cycles. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and product documentation. Familiarity with mining applications, warranty terms and product-performance criteria. Competence using measuring instruments and field diagnostic tools. Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert field data into practical recommendations. Ability to prepare clear and professional technical reports. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This is a field-based role involving work at active mine sites, maintenance facilities and industrial locations. The successful candidate must be able to: Travel to customer, distributor and remote mine-site locations as required. Work extended shifts, including 12-hour days, when necessary. Work a rotational schedule of 14/14 Work indoors and outdoors in changing weather and industrial conditions. Walk or stand for extended periods and safely navigate uneven surfaces. Climb equipment access systems and work safely around large earthmoving machinery. Bend, kneel and perform physically demanding inspection activities. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Wear required personal protective equipment and satisfy respirator-fit requirements. Comply with all company and customer safety, site-access and regulatory requirements. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record. Ability to travel by vehicle and commercial aircraft. Ability to work in remote locations and access active mine sites. Successful completion of required background checks and applicable drug and alcohol screening. Ability to obtain and maintain required site orientations, safety training and certifications.
