POSITION FUNCTION The Day Camp leader is responsible for leading and supervising children in a variety of day camp activities. This role helps to support camp programming that is safe, engaging and fun and plays a key role in providing guidance and support to camp attendees. KEY DUTIES Main tasks include programming, leading and supervising children in camps throughout the summer. Knowledge of games, crafts, sports, outdoor recreation, weekly program planning and risk management. INDEPENDENCE Work is performed following established routines and is reviewed by supervisor. KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to engage and effectively work with children Complete forms accurately. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner. Work safely on job site. QUALIFICATIONS Current Standard First Aid and CPR C are required. A Class 4 Driver’s License is an asset. Successful applicants will be required to provide a vulnerable sector criminal record clearance as a condition of employment. OTHER: May be requested to substitute in a more senior position.
