About the Role To provide a safe and clean environment for all Elders, staff, and visitors. Job Duties and Responsibilities Cleaning Environment: • Follow weekly housekeeping work routine & record - including Elder Room Schedule and weekly deep clean room schedule • Disinfect all contact points - door handles, light switches, handrails, phones etc. • Scrub and wipe down toilets, sinks and counter tops • Routine dusting throughout Home, fixtures • Floor Care - vacuum and shampoo carpets, dust mop, damp mop, buff, strip and wax floors • Do special projects as delegated Laundry Services: • Place orders for linens in a timely fashion • Maintain log of linens delivered and returned • Deliver laundry carts and supplies to appropriate locations • Change linens when beds are made for Elders • Assist in collection and packing of Elder’s belongings upon death or discharge Communication: • Daily review involvement with nursing, management, supervisors and families • Hand in completed Housekeeping Work Routine & Record sheets every Friday Water Temperature: • On weekends and statutory holidays randomly check water temperature in various locations twice a day throughout Home adhering to Ministry guidelines General: • Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed • Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis These describe the general nature and level of work being performed by incumbents in this classification.
