Job details
First-Year Representatives (FYR) will serve as a connection between Commerce Community and the first-year Sauder community, helping promote CC events and initiatives while providing insight into the first-year student experience. FYRs will support the planning and execution of CC initiatives and have the opportunity to shadow different portfolios, such as Events and External, to gain exposure to various areas of the club. This role will allow FYRs to explore their interests, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and become more involved within the Sauder and CUS community. \n Time Commitment 3-5 hours/week Term of Employment September 2026 - March 2027 Main Responsibilities Promote CC events and initiatives to first-year Sauder students. Provide insight into the interests, needs, and perspectives of the first-year community. Support the planning and execution of CC events and initiatives across different portfolios. Build relationships with first-year students and help increase awareness of CC within the first-year community. Attend weekly meetings and support team members as required. Qualifications Must be a first-year UBC Sauder student for the 2026/27 academic year. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiastic about becoming involved in the Sauder and CUS community. Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute new ideas. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team Anticipated Learning Outcomes Gain exposure to event planning, marketing, external relations, and philanthropy. Develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and organizational skills. Gain experience working within a CUS club and collaborating across different portfolios. Build connections within the Sauder and CUS community.
