The Dante Alighieri Society of British Columbia is one of the four hundred such organizations located outside of Italy. Our chapter's objective is to offer a program of talks, musical events, courses of Italian language (through the Dante Italian Language School in Vancouver) and more informal gatherings on Italian culture that members, friends and students are most welcome to attend. The Dante Alighieri Society also organizes the PLIDACertification Tests to evaluate an individual’s linguistic competencies in Italian. The Plida Certificate is recognized by the Italian government for immigration/work purposes and it has the academic approval of the Sapienza University of Rome.
