We are currently seeking a Class 1 Driver for our Mississauga Distribution Centrelocated at 333 Matheson Blvd West. This is a great opportunity if you’re a Class 1 Driver looking for weekend work (shifts will typically fall on Saturdays) primarily on-site at our DC. This position is being posted to fill an immediate staffing need within the department. As a Class 1 Driver, you will: * Work as part of a team to provide an exceptional delivery service to our customers. * Deliver and pick up product at various vendors using a semi-tractor, 27’ and 53’ trailers. * Understand and follow all safe work practices and rules. * Conduct pre- and post-trip audits as required to meet safety standards and regulatory requirements. * Complete all required Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and comply and present all HOS logs electronically when checked at a scale or stopped by the authorities. * Complete all assigned documentation related to the delivery of the product. * Abide by all Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations concerning commercial truck drivers. * Communicate any issues (mechanical or otherwise) regarding the delivery truck. * Support spotting of trailers as needed. As a successful candidate you will have the following: * High school diploma, GED or equivalent skills and experience. * Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement, with a clean Driver Abstract. * At least 1 year of Class 1 Driver experience. * Experience with hand tools is an asset. * Effective written and oral communication skills. * Good physical condition with stamina to lift at least 50 – 100 pounds. * Strong customer service skills. Other information: * Must be reliable and able to work a flexible schedule (shifts will primarily fall on Saturdays, with some potential for weekday shifts as required for vacation coverage). * Must be available to change schedule and work overtime with short notice, as required. * Must be able to work in extreme temperatures. * An up-to-date medical certificate will be required as a pre-requisite for employment.
