Shift: Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday (and as needed for vacation fill in) Shift: 12noon-8:30pm Compensation: $24.02/hr + Shift Premium SUMMARY To ensure dedicated trucks are loaded, unloaded, and processed accurately, according to weight requirements, availability of space, and variety of freight. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Fully understand Erb Transport’s handling of freight on the dock. Understand duties of both Dock Loaders and Dock Receivers. Load straight-trucks as well as trailers destined for specific locations, while avoiding damages by ensuring equipment is set at correct temperatures. Judging freight volumes for trailers, cubing, re weighing and additional reporting as needed. Set up dock floor and line up freight so that orders can be found efficiently and accurately. Read and cross-reference freight bills to match with actual products according to manifests. Ensure trucks are loaded according to legal weights and space allotted for the product. Operate pallet-jack and forklift in a safe manner. Inform appropriate personnel of any equipment requiring repairs and/or follow-up. All other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience. Knowledge of Erb’s systems and operations is an asset. Ability to work in a cold, refrigerated environment for up to 8 hours is necessary. Must be able to list up to 70lbs. Team player with a positive attitude. Positive communication skills as it pertains to interacting with dock staff, operations, and drivers. Safety-conscious mind-set. WORKING CONDITIONS Hourly position.
