Shift: (Rotating, Days & Afternoons)Monday-Friday 6:30am- 3:00pm & 2:30pm-11:00pm SUMMARY The 310T Truck Apprentice is responsible for the service, truck and equipment repairs as required by the Leadhand or Shop Manager. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of trucks, trailers, and related equipment. Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned, learning and developing skills necessary to become a fully qualified mechanic. Document all work completed, ensuring all details are accurate and up-to-date. Fill out inspection sheets as required, adhering to company standards and safety guidelines. Track and log parts usage on a daily basis, ensuring proper inventory control and reporting any discrepancies. When instructed, perform road tests to verify the functionality and safety of repaired vehicles. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment. Assist senior mechanics in troubleshooting mechanical issues, gaining hands-on experience with a wide variety of repairs and maintenance tasks. Follow all safety protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials. All other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS 310T Truck and Coach License or enrolled in Apprenticeship program preferably (1st) first level up to (3rd) third level apprenticeship. Proof of registration will be required. Valid driver licence. Candidates must be willing to work safely and make safety a priority above all else adhere to safety policies and regulations and engage in best practice of safety initiatives. Computer literate (Microsoft Office, TMT). Aptitude for truck maintenance and repair. Positive attitude with proven people skills. Honest, diplomatic and trustworthy. WORKING CONDITIONS Hourly based on 40 hours of work. Bi-weekly rotating shift (days/afternoons).
