Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm SUMMARY The Payroll Administrator assists with processing bi-weekly payroll and all other functions of payroll for Erb Transport Limited. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Process bi-weekly pay according to federal payroll legislation, in conjunction with company pay guidelines. Ensure differences with Ontario, Manitoba and Quebec deductions are reflected. Review employee timesheets for accuracy. Verify employee absences affecting pay are interpreted correctly. Ensure entitlements for overtime, shift premiums, medical days, holiday pay, and other personal leaves are calculated accurately and in compliance with company policy and regulations. Audit Payroll Register to ensure accuracy. Create new employee profiles in the payroll system and modify employee records as required. Process all position transfers, salary changes, and status changes received from HR department. Process terminations and complete the Record of Employment. Monitor and track vacation entitlements. Run listings, recalculate, and adjust accruals as required. Assist in payment of special additional pay runs i.e. Annual safe driver bonus Input employee miscellaneous deductions. Respond to emails and answer employee inquiries. Assist in department filing, and any special projects as assigned. All other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS 2 years payroll experience required. Knowledge of the transportation industry considered an asset. PCP designation or equivalent experience preferred. Detail oriented, able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple assignments within deadlines. Must be organized and able to comply to standardized procedures and regulations. Advanced MS Office Suite experience required. Experience with Dayforce considered an asset. Good communication skills, both verbally and written required. Willingness to be part of a team with a high degree of integrity and confidentiality. WORKING CONDITIONS Overtime may be required. Requirements
Candidates must have at least 2 years of payroll experience and advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite. A PCP designation and experience with Dayforce or the transportation industry are considered assets.
