The Children's Orthotics Clinic At SickKids Hospital Is Offering a Full-time Certified Orthotist Position. We Are Looking For An Enthusiastic Individual Who Enjoys Working In a Multidisciplinary Fast-paced Environment. The Children's Orthotics Clinic Supports Acute And Ambulatory Care At SickKids As Well As Outpatient Care In Our Community. Here At SickKids, You Have The Opportunity To Gain Experience With a Diverse Range Of Pediatric Patients Which Includes Helmet therapy for positional plagiocephaly/brachycephaly and craniosynostosis Lower Extremity Orthoses for a variety of different pediatric populations Spinal Bracing for Scoliosis and trauma management Orthoses for hypertrophic scar management Inpatient care (post-operative and trauma) The Children's Orthotics Clinic places high value on improving best practices for orthotic management and leading our field into the future of technology by utilizing scanning technology, CAD/CAM and currently developing 3D printing practices. Here's What You'll Get To Do Gain experience working with a diverse range of pediatric patients with unique and complex needs Utilize scanning technology and CAD software for shape capture and digital rectification Participate in research opportunities Travel for educational purposes to maintain best practice guidelines within our field Contribute to the educational team delivering the Clinical Methods spinal course for George Brown College Collaborate directly with physicians, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists within a variety of outpatient clinics and inpatient units. Here's What You'll Need Orthotist certification in good standing with the Canadian Board of Certification of Prosthetics and Orthotics (CBCPO) and eligibility for ADP authorizer status Credentials must be in accordance with Ontario legislation Must have graduated from an accredited College in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Must be certified through OPC to practice in Canada. Requirements
Applicants must be certified orthotists in good standing with the Canadian Board of Certification of Prosthetics and Orthotics, eligible for ADP authorizer status, and graduates of an accredited Prosthetics and Orthotics college; credentials must meet Ontario legislation and OPC certification requirements. Commitment to research, training, continuing education, and equity, diversity, and inclusion is preferred or expected.
