Jim Pattison Hyundai Northshore is seeking an Apprentice Technician Level 2 - 4, to join our Service Department. As an Hyundai Apprentice Technician, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced automotive professionals while developing your skills through hands-on experience. You’ll assist with vehicle maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs while gaining valuable knowledge and experience in a busy dealership environment. We’re looking for someone who is motivated to learn, takes pride in their work, and brings a positive, team-oriented attitude to the workplace. You’ll receive ongoing guidance, training, and mentorship from our experienced Service team, with opportunities to expand your knowledge and progress throughout your apprenticeship. Pay Range: $27.82 to $35.33 hourly flat rate depending on certification and level of experience. A Day in the Life Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards Perform thorough vehicle inspections with accurate documentation and measurements Identify mechanical and electrical issues, recommend solutions, and communicate findings clearly to Service team Partner with Service Advisors to provide updates on repair timelines or recommend additional safety work Conduct road tests and pre-delivery inspections on new inventory to ensure every vehicle leaving the shop is in top condition Coordinate with the Parts Department to source what you need and manage warranty labeling Assist fellow technicians when needed to maintain overall shop productivity Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards Ensure a high degree of confidentiality with company and customer information Participate in maintaining a supportive and engaging working environment What We’re Looking For Completed Level 2 to 4 Automotive Service Technician Apprentice in British Columbia Previous automotive shop or dealership experience is considered an asset Basic mechanical knowledge and willingness to continue learning Valid BC Driver’s License with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract Ability to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles is an asset Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Reliable, punctual, and dependable Comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive shop environment Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 60 pounds and standing for extended periods High level of mobility, dexterity, and awareness when working around vehicles and shop equipment Working Conditions Indoor automotive shop environment with multiple service bays Exposure to noise from engines and air tools, as well as vehicle exhaust, dust, and cleaning products Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment Shop temperatures may vary depending on season and ventilation conditions What We Offer Competitive wages Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and insurance Unlimited opportunities for advancement, growth, and development Manufacturer led training opportunities Access to exclusive corporate discount programs Recognition and rewards programs A great team atmosphere and a positive, supportive working environment How to Apply If this sounds like a great fit, please apply with your resume today!
