We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our team in Richmond, BC. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Payroll, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely administration of payroll and employee benefits for employees across North America. This position is ideal for a payroll professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional service, maintaining compliance, and supporting employees through all aspects of payroll and benefits administration. Working closely with Finance, Human Resources, and external vendors, you will help ensure our payroll and benefits programs run smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process bi-weekly payroll for employees across US and a backup for our Canada regions Maintain employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, promotions, compensation changes, and leave statuses Validate payroll data including regular earnings, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions Ensure accurate federal, state, and local payroll tax withholding and reporting Reconcile payroll registers, payroll-related GL accounts, and benefit deductions Coordinate payroll funding and support month-end and year-end close activities Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and payroll audits Manage wage garnishments, child support orders, and levies in accordance with state-specific requirements Prepare payroll reports and analytics for Finance leadership Benefits Administration Administer employee benefit programs including: Medical and dental plans Life and disability insurance Health Savings Accounts (HSA) Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) Process employee enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events, and beneficiary updates Act as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders Manage annual open enrollment activities and employee communications Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and ensure payroll deductions are accurate Monitor benefit eligibility and compliance with company policies Compliance + Regulatory Administration: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and employment regulations Maintain working knowledge of payroll requirements Support external audits and provide payroll and benefits documentation as required What You Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent experience US Payroll experience is required 2-5 years of experience administering multi-state US payroll and employee benefits Strong understanding of payroll tax requirements, wage and hour laws, and benefits administration Experience with payroll and HRIS systems Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information Preferred Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation Experience working within a Finance or Accounting department Knowledge of general ledger reconciliations and payroll accounting Experience supporting audits and compliance reporting Familiarity with multi-state leave programs and workers' compensation administration Experience administering payroll across U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions is an asset Additional Information Full-time position based in Richmond, BC Regular business hours, Monday to Friday Occasional overtime required during payroll processing cycles, year-end activities, and other peak periods Standard office work environment with typical physical requirements, including extended computer use and light lifting (up to 30 lbs.) Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience, along with U.S. payroll experience and 2–5 years administering multi-state U.S. payroll and employee benefits. Candidates should have strong payroll tax and benefits knowledge, experience with payroll and HRIS systems, advanced Excel skills, and strong analytical, reconciliation, accuracy, and confidentiality skills; CPP certification is preferred.
