Position Information This position is working in an outpatient cardiovascular rehabilitation setting. Rotation/Shifts Days, and evenings, 8 hour shifts. Basic Requirements Master's degree in Physiotherapy OR equivalent program recognized by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO); Successful completion of registration and examination process for physiotherapy as set by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO); Working knowledge of regulatory standards set by licensing board (CPO); Working knowledge of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation standards set by CorHealth Ontario (formerly Cardiac Care Network); Two (2) years experience working with cardiac patients; Experience in counselling and behaviour change; Eligible for Certification in CPR and/or First Aid; Excellent interpersonal skills; Superior written and verbal communication skills; Sound judgement and problem-solving abilities; Preferred Qualifications Recent experience with inpatient cardiac patients; Exercise Specialist Certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or equivalent (CACPR, CSEP) Demonstrated experience in groups and individual patient teaching; Experience with exercise leadership and prescription for special populations. Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced) . The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills.
