Position Information The Specialist, Conflict Resolution is the subject matter specialist for the organization in providing advice and guidance on best practices and legislative compliance with respect to workplace conflict. The Specialist, Conflict Resolution will ensure the organization is in compliance with applicable legislation and regulations, supports the maintenance of programs, policies and processes. The incumbent will lead corporately on investigating and resolving claims of harassment, sexual harassment, bullying and abuse of authority and provide guidance and advice to all levels of management on workplace conflict -related subjects and best practices. The Specialist, Conflict Resolution provides coaching, training and support to leaders, colleagues and employees with respect to the Respectful Behaviour in the Workplace Policy and processes. In addition, facilitates mediations with respect to workplace conflict resolution and restoration as well as conducts Workplace Assessments in areas of concern. Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts. What You Will Bring 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Conflict Resolution, Business Administration, Human Resources or other related discipline; Three years of experience in mediation, investigation, conflict resolution or related experience, preferably in a large health care organization; Education in conflict resolution Experience in Mediated Discussions and Restoration; Self-motivated, solid judgement, discretion, and interpersonal skills; Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed analysis of information, and to create and deliver best solutions; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Strong investigative skills; Excellent organization skills; Service-oriented and capable of managing competing priorities/meeting deadlines; Excellent facilitation skills; ability to engage diverse audiences and at all levels; Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate at the right level for the intended audience; Ability to identify systemic issues encountered during informal conflict resolution and make proposals towards relevant actions to be taken; Demonstrated knowledge of employment-related legislation (i.e. Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.); Knowledge of principles of managing issues related to performance, harassment, violence and abuse of authority; Knowledge of provincial health and safety legislation and obligations. You will stand out with: Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level-4) and comprehension (advanced level-4). Requirements

Requires a four-year undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and three years of experience in mediation, investigation, conflict resolution, or a related area; conflict-resolution education and experience with mediated discussions and restoration are also specified. Candidates should have strong investigative, facilitation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, along with knowledge of employment and health and safety legislation.
