Business Development Manager (BDM), Canada – Luxury Market Job Description We are seeking a strategic, dynamic, and well-connected Business Development Manager (BDM) based in Toronto to spearhead our growth within the Canadian Luxury market. Operating in a fully remote capacity, you will be directly responsible for accelerating revenue growth, identifying high-yield business opportunities, and strengthening our property's positioning within the Canadian luxury market. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of the Canadian high-end travel ecosystem, along with a proven track record of nurturing relationships with elite travel advisors, host agencies, and international luxury consortia. Key Responsibilities Canadian Market Strategy: Design and execute strategic business development plans tailored specifically to maximize revenue from the Canadian luxury Leisure and corporate travel segments. Consortia Management: Lead commercial relationships and revenue maximization with top-tier luxury consortia present in Canada, such as Virtuoso, Leading Hotels of the World (LHW), Preferred Hotels, and Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR). Preferred Agency Programs: Manage and drive sales production through elite hotel brand preferred programs. Networking & Relationship Building: Maintain and expand an active network of premium Canadian travel agencies, prominent host agencies, independent Travel Advisors, and niche luxury concierge services across major Canadian hubs. Proactive Sales Initiatives: Conduct targeted sales calls, execute regional sales blitzes, organize local advisor events in Toronto and other major Canadian cities, and represent the property at premier luxury travel trade shows. Market Intelligence: Monitor Canadian luxury consumer trends, currency/economic factors, and competitor movement to identify untapped market niches and revenue streams. Bespoke VIP Experiences: Coordinate closely with operations and reservations teams to ensure customized amenities and itineraries strictly align with consortia standards and Canadian guest preferences. Requirements & Qualifications Location: Must be permanently based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with the ability to work effectively from a home office. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: 3 to 5+ years of proven sales or business development experience exclusively within the luxury hospitality sector or premium travel services, with an established book of contacts in Canada. Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in French is a significant asset for the Canadian market. Soft Skills: Exceptional negotiation capabilities, impeccable communication, sharp attention to detail, executive presence, and strong cultural intelligence. Travel Availability: Flexibility to travel regionally within Canada and internationally as required by the commercial strategy. What we offer: Monthly fee: CAD $6,870 + USD $20,000 performance-based bonus (paid quarterly, divided into 4 installments).
