Job Title: SAP R2R Architect Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Toronto, Canada Travel Requirement: Travel to the USA for approximately 1 week per month Availability: Immediate Joiners Preferred Preferred Industry Experience: Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences Position Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP Record-to-Report (R2R) Architect for an immediate contract opportunity based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Toronto. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP Finance and Controlling (FICO), Record-to-Report processes, financial architecture, and SAP implementation or transformation projects. The candidate must be comfortable traveling to the USA for approximately one week each month. The project is initially planned for two months, with a strong possibility of extension for up to nine additional months, depending on project requirements and performance. Key Responsibilities Lead the solution architecture and design for SAP Record-to-Report (R2R) processes. Define and implement end-to-end SAP Finance solutions covering general ledger accounting, financial close, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, and financial reporting. Translate business and finance requirements into scalable SAP solution designs. Provide architectural guidance for SAP S/4HANA Finance and related SAP financial applications. Ensure integration between R2R processes and other SAP modules, including Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), and other relevant business processes. Lead discussions with finance stakeholders, business teams, and technical teams to ensure alignment with business objectives. Support financial transformation initiatives, including process standardization, automation, and optimization. Oversee solution design, configuration decisions, integration requirements, and technical dependencies. Identify architectural risks and recommend appropriate solutions. Support testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities as required. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Canada and the USA, including during on-site project visits. Required Qualifications Extensive experience in SAP Finance and Controlling (SAP FICO). Strong expertise in Record-to-Report (R2R) processes and financial accounting. Proven experience in SAP solution architecture or SAP Finance transformation projects. Hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Finance and its architecture. Strong understanding of financial close, general ledger, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting. Experience in SAP integration and end-to-end finance process design. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in a contract-based project environment. Must be a Canadian citizen. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry. Experience with finance transformation programs in large enterprise environments. Knowledge of SAP Central Finance, Group Reporting, or other relevant SAP Finance capabilities. Experience working in multinational organizations with complex financial structures.
